How may I set the default device profile? [#19697]

Post by chrisjj »

I.e. set a profile to be used automatically when a new device is detected.

Thanks.

EDIT: Clarification: How may I configure a fresh portable installation such that it will use my preconfigured chosen device profile for any subsequently detected MTP device? Options, Portable Device Sync shows:

Setting the profile of "Windows Media compatible device d_WMDM.dll" fails - see:

Settings for "Windows Media compatible device d_WMDM.dll" lost on device detection

Hi,
Not sure I follow. Profile is still created as soon as you connect device, but some older devices announce itself as MSC external HDD and not as Removable device which makes MM auto disable because some users have external HDDs with media for MM library and not to be used as Sync device.

Hi,
Not possible to make persistent default settings, Best way would be to create/setup profile and export its settings that you can load on each new device detected.

That's more or less what I do currently, but am looking to cut out the manual load step to help non-technical users. Thanks.

Ouch, it would not be the first time that I create Steps in pics with shiny arrows to explain. Good luck.

The more I think about it the more I see the need for that so added as I pictured the scene https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19697
