I've tried all suggestion that a came across in the forum. Still no sound.
Of course, it isn't a volume issue.
Any other software plays sound without any problem. I have also MM4 with no problems.
I've tried Direct Sound, Wasapi and WaveOut. Still no sound.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it after a reboot.
I've updated sound drivers with no success.
I've removed all sound devices and rebooted. After that, windows reinstalled all the needed drivers. MM4 plays, and any other software too. MM5 has no sound.
I'm out of ideas. Do you know another way to troubleshoot it?
Thank you.
Bob.

It does sound like the volume is set to 0 in MediaMonkey 5 itself: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... corrupted/
What sound device is selected in the Output Plug-in currently enabled?

Re: MediaMonkey 5.0.4 for windows plays no sound
Thank you for your answer.
I've gone through that and many other articles / solutions without success.
I'm currently using the WASAPI Output to the Default Device. I've tested also the event driven Exclusive Mode switch.
Still no sound.
I noticed that although music files (flac, mp3,...) play no sound (but I can see the waveform seek bar and the vu meter), the videos play just fine with sound.
The issue seams to be related to music only.
Does this make sense?

And right click on the MediaMonkey tray icon (next to clock on Windows Taskbar) shows Volume set to 100% in the Context Menu?

Re: MediaMonkey 5.0.4 for windows plays no sound
Can you install as Portable Install in a separate location and see if that install also has this problem?
Did you check the Windows Volume Mixer?

Re: MediaMonkey 5.0.4 for windows plays no sound
That was spot on!
Thank you so much Lowlander.
In fact the mixer for the MM5 was muted. How it was set to mute I don't know.
MM5 now plays as expected.
Somehow video playing was not affected.
